I've always considered preparing for any survival/emergencies a form of insurance.? The same reason I purchase car, life, health, and home insurance, to insure I can continue after a life altering event. I have a couple of months worth of food, water, generators, fuel, medication/first aid, cooking supplies and temporary shelter and lots of firearms/ammo stored away.? ? If I survive the event, at least my family will have a chance. Better to have and not need it, than need it and not have it.
